Link Salad π₯
I used to do these quite a bit back in the day, when OpenPLUTO was WordPress-based. They often were done in bullet-point fashion and eventually those bullet-points became emojis, and eventually I started participating in the whole Weeknotes idea. We aim to take it back to basics here. Sometimes the act of web browsing gets too fast-paced for my real-time organizational skills. When these links could gather to the point it seemed daunting to organize them, I would make these "link dumps" and make posts about them. Linkdrops, Linkdumps, call it what you will.
Not sure what I will call these, this time around, but here we go.
- Seen AlbumWhale mentioned a couple times, so decided to pull the trigger and make an account.
- I started a List of Superb Albums list. So far we are at 122 albums.
- My sister finally got to setup a proper office in her house. When she went me a video of the walk-thru I noticed how many things she's got plugged into her Mac. I need to buy her the Anker Laptop Docking Station ASAP. Her birthday is coming, and this seems informal, but she needs this solution pronto.
- Around the time I saw AlbumWhale being mentioned, I stumbled upon the 1001 Albums Generator site, again, and this time I decided to look around more and see what it is all about.
- I never knew much about the book before, but I have decided to give it a shot. I have been in a musical lull in what seem like a couple of years now, and there is only so much 90s music out there. Podcasts on in the background casually playing when I'm on the computer, it is a violent distraction, so this is a welcome experience.
- I spotted a new Guestbook being created by way of the BearBlog Discover page, and now I am inspired to possibly roll one out both here and wmprkr.xyz. The GitHub is located here.
- One of my coworkers is always sending me Spotify links of music to checkout. This website takes that link and gives you back a link to basically every streaming service you can think of. Now it's easier to add these songs to a playlist.
- I upgraded my system last week. The transition to Linux Mint "Zena" went well, but I guess I forgot to bookmark this ViolentMonkey script to download videos and pictures off π with a single click.
- I stumbled upon this lovely website called powRSS which helps you discover the IndieWeb.
- I requested to join, and was accepted! Either the guy running the show or someone who gave me access emailed me as said they liked my "Does Anybody Actually Read Later" post and linked me to another article by Will Hopkins they thought I would enjoy. Sure did, and it's a better language articulation of what I was trying to get at.
- Found this website there: Linux Audit: The dedicated blog about Linux security
- They say if you want something done ask a busy person to do it. Robert Birming is always up to something. π Bear Hug is the latest thing he is up to. I really like it a lot.
- I have been tinkering with a theme, which I considered a "gentle deviation from the default BearBlog theme", but now Bear Hug fits that description better. The theme is being used here right now, with the Late Night Hacker palette. I setup a GitHub for this but haven't put anything up yet.
- Met some lovely cat people on Mastodon. πββ¬πββ¬
- M'lady and I are in the process of deconstructing our LEGO sets to save some room, but the Claude Monet and Sea Otter ones announced look really cool!
