MKE Oatmeal Spheres
~24-28 Energy Bites
Ingredients
- 2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 3 cups old fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp honey
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Method
- Mix everything together in a large bowl until fully combined.
- Refrigerate for about 30 minutes so the mixture firms up.
- Lightly butter or oil your hands if sticky.
- Roll into roughly 1-inch balls.
- Optional: roll the finished bites in extra oats or mini chocolate chips.
Even Smaller “Single Batch"
If you want something closer to a single container for the fridge, that is to say: "Oh, Shit! I need them for tomorrow!"
Ingredients
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 1/2 cups oats
- 2 tbsp + 1 tsp honey
- 6 tbsp chocolate chips
This should yield roughly 12–14 bites.
Notes
Texture Adjustment
If too dry:
- add a splash more honey
- or a spoonful of peanut butter
If too wet:
- add more oats
Best Type of Peanut Butter
Using natural peanut butter works, but:
- stir it VERY well first
- texture gets softer/oilier
Standard creamy peanut butter honestly behaves better here.
