Linux Mint 22.3 "Zena"
You see, whenever I would upgrade my Linux systems back in the day it always lead to some multi-day struggle trying to get this or that to work. I have been on the Linux Mint 21 series since shortly after it was released back in July of 2022. Before I got my cameras, before I met Christina, before the cats, back when an entire different version of myself existed.
I actually rallied the help of ChatGPT to make me a bit of a "mental checklist" of things to do before wiping the system away. Let me tell you, this is the second time I've upgraded my system after backing up my .config folder and the first time I actually imported some of that data back. Incredible. It made the jump so quick and painless. I do have a couple of things to mention tho:
- Albert has a plugin for Obsidian. My life is now complete.
- I forgot to back up my aliases. Chat had a good point about that tho: "Aliases tend to calcify over time." and mine certainly have.
- VS Codes config folder was actually not inside of
.confgso those settings got nuked. That was a bit of a kick in the rear-end. - The new keyboard settings for Mint are phenomenally improved.
- Tilda, one of my favorite applications in the world that I use everyday, several dozen times a day is only 680k in size. Incredible.
That's all for now. I am delighted to report that this post is being typed within Linux Mint 22.3 "Zena" in Obsidian!
