Weeknotes – Week 47

The biggest and probably most important thing this week is pkm.social launching. A space setup after so many fled Twitter. This bad boys focused on all the personal knowledge management stuff a person could ask for and most of the important people of that space are on there.

We have added backing up Raindrop and Pinboard to our weekly list of digital chores.

Lots of mentions of Hookmark, perhaps because of the re-branding. I’m sorry to say I’m not on my Mac long enough to justify giving this a shot but there is a lot of support behind this.

The Wisconsin DOT is always good at sending out their reminders for renewals super early. At some point in the last year I opted to be added to their text messaging system and I find it to be better than the letters you get in the mail. Time to renew.

This guy build a vault in Obsidian and then put it up publicly on GitHub for anyone to use. The Conclusion of the README stuck out to me.

Now you know the structure of my digital brain. May it’s memes spread.

Pulled the trigger on Grip6 Wool socks. Christmas ones no less. This is how you are supposed to care for wool.

Starting using IFTTT again. I have it adding bookmarks to Pinboard that I’m adding to Raindrop.

Speaking of, Raindrop is hands-down the best way to highlight and annotate the web. Eloquent is right up on it’s ass tho.

I am happy to see how widely-used Gravatar has become over the years.

Enough mentions of Arc to get me on the waiting list. It’s a web browser that’s gonna change the world.

Artificial intelligence is continually blowing my mind. This thing helps you write, and this one you feed words like a search engine and it makes art in real time.

Been poking around on Pixelfed, but not sure I’ll bite.

Signed up with Nicole’s Patreon to help support pkm.social.

Glasp is the last thing I needed to shown, but I don’t think it will work into my whole process but it’s sure damn neat. It’s more highlighting and annotating of the web. Heard it mentioned on pkm.social.

Take a virtual tour of Giza Pyramids.

Tried a couple Linux clients for Mastodon. I like just a web app thru Brave the best. Tried Sengi and The Desk.

Inoreader started supporting Mastodon almost immediately after they noticed the exodus from Twitter.

Watched the vault tour livestream on Danny Hatcher’s channel the other day with the creator of Buttons, Samwise Gamgee. Both of these guys are amazing people. Buttons GitHub.

Found two new lofi livestreams on YouTube:

Using Siri with Todoist.

Silver Tempest is out. These are the cards people are ruining children’s Christmas’ everywhere to attain.
